For documentary
photographer Dorie Hagler, the message is both profound and ordinary:
We are all more alike than different. "My
photographs", she says, "are stories about our shared
humanity, stories that connect all of us." Dorie's work
often documents the lives of everyday people who cling to their
faith, family, and community in order to survive. " While
living and traveling in predominantly Roman Catholic Latin America," Dorie
says, " I came to see how much faith these people need to
have, and not just religious faith but faith the rains will come,
their crops will grow, and that they will be able to go on. She
captures the simplicity and magic of her subjects in their day
to day tasks, and is able to show through her photographs how
faith is a gift to all humanity.
