“You have an impressive growth,” he said.“What? What’s that?” we asked. “It’s a very large tumor in the left temporal lobe of your brain. It needs to be removed immediately.

That was seven years and four surgeries ago. For the first surgery they shaved the left side of my head and made a large horseshoe-shaped incision. They peeled back the skin and cut out a big chunk of my skull. They moved my brain over, excised the golf ball-sized tumor and stapled me back together.
